Played mrudangam today for the violin duet of Sudha R.S. Iyer and Srividya R.S. Iyer at Raga Sudha Hall, Mylapore, Chennai. The concert was a part of Isai Velvi 2008 being organized by (Ghatam) Sri V. Suresh’s International Society for Laya Awareness.

The song list is as follows:

1) sarasUDa (varnam) – sAvEri – Adi – kothavAsal venkaTrAma iyer (O)

2) kanjadaLAyatAkSi – manOhari – Adi – muthuswAmi dIkSitar (S)

3) durmArga carAdamulanu – ranjani – rUpakam – tyAgarAja (A)

4) cittam irangAdEnayyA – sahAnA – misra cApu – pApanAsam sivan (AST)

5) tillAnA – mAND – Adi – lAlguDi g. jayarAman

(Key: O=raga outline, A=raga alapana, N=neraval, S=kalpana swaram, T=taniavartanam)

Tani was for misra cApu tAlam and eDuppu was 3 aksharams after samam.

    why dont you record some of your concerts and post a link here?

    I would like to listen to it and I am sure there will be quite a lot of people like me… If full concert is not possible.. Atleast the tani…
