   Dear Ram,

   Remember me? I am E.Padmanabhan, Akshay Padmanabhan’s father. I had requested you to include my son’s performance list last year for Dec ’07. I was at the concert hall on 7.12.08(Adtya’s kutcheri at Sivagami Petachi Auditorium). It was a wonderful performance by you on the mridangam. I felt that the way you played you should be accompanying senior artists. this is my wish. I didn’t know that you were Ram of Ramsabodeat that point of time. It was later on when I asked my son, he confirmed that you are the same person.

   I don’t know one readily. Would suggest you refer to Mudhra’s Artist Directory that is released every year and contact artists listed there.

   P.S: I have learnt carnatic music(vocal) for 3 years during my school days. I have basic knowledge of carnatic music.

      Hi Dhruv,

      Where are you located? I suggest you check Mudhra’s artist directory (available in music stores in Chennai) and find out which artists are located near your place. You might have to talk to a few to find out whether they will teach from basics, how much they will charge etc

   Vidya here again. We are moving to chennai, Thiruvanmiyur. My kid is learning carnatic music from Tara Bangalore, Boston. And If possible can I get a list of good teachers near that area.    hi there,
   I am a carnatic music student from london and am planning to come to chennai for a holiday from the 26th of april to the 14th of may of this year.i am at an intermediate level and would like to go to carnatic workshops/lectures.is there anything in the area of adyar/tnagar or surrounding that you could recommend for me?
   i would also like to attend some katcheries.
   it would be of great help if you could assist me.

      Hi Judy Arulthas,

      Though this is usually the dull period of the year with respect to musical activity in Chennai, there is still plenty going on. Please keep checking the Concerts in Chennai page on this blog or the local newspapers (The Hindu) after you land and you should get the listings of kutcheris. Wishing you a great listening experience!

    Can you suggest some tamil software wherein I can write stories / poems and sent to various publishers Or can you give some suggestions for a tamil blog myself…
