Sri T.M.Krishna (TMK) delighted the audience assembled in huge numbers at the Asthiga Samajam with yet another great performance. The concert started with the bEgaDa kriti “tanavAri tAnamu”. “nagumOmu” in AbhEri followed suit after an elaborate AbhEri alapana. Neraval was done at “jagamElE paramAtmA” and kalpana swaram was put at the same place. After a beautiful alapana of sAramati, TMK started “mOkshamu galadA” from the anupallavi “sAkshAtkAra nI sadbhakti …. “. TMK then sang Sri Guruvayur Dorai’s request “irakkam varAmal”. Due to shortage of time, he couldn’t honour a couple of audience requests. When a mami stood up and requested him to sing a song, he jokingly remarked “naalaikku varalaame” 🙂

Looks like a short kutcheri.

The concert lasted for about 2 hours. TMK chose to sing lesser number of pieces with more detail per piece.
That is what I meant,a two-hour kutcheri.Anyway,quality is far more essential than quantity.
Cud u also tell more about the pakkavadyam..plz?
