Some changes

Took a decision not to post any more about live concerts I hear. Even if there are any such posts, they will be very very rare. Majority of posts should again be about Carnatic music; guess its impossible to live without it. Schedules of concerts in Chennai will continue to get posted.

For the first year or so, this blog was fully about ISB and my experience there. From then on, till this point, it was primarily about details of concerts I heard. It’s time to change gears again.

Ah pity! Whenever I’m out of town, in fact, your blog is the first web site I visit, to see what I missed out on. There’s some vicarious pleasure in knowing that Sanjay sang a Thodi, even if I didn’t actually hear it. 🙂

The in depth analysis you did for many concerts was mindblowing. I have not read such analysis at any other place. Your blog rescued me from reading stale Hindu reviews. But now?

i am not sure if u should stop writing completely. i would still suggest writing song lists, and prolly just a couple of lines, in your blog atleast…

I’m sure quite a few of us will be disappointed….even Samanth

Maybe, u could skip trying to be the journal of record (detailed list of songs, accompaniment names, et al) and just do a quick review based on what you liked (about the music) and disliked (about the venues, mamas and mamis)?

Don’t listen to anybody who has squatted on the URL carnaticmusic.blogspot.com and then refuses to update. We totally want the detailed list of songs, accompaniment names, et al. Only the casual kutcheri goer like Arun wants to know about the mamas and the mamis. 🙂

Will miss your analysis, Ram for sure! I felt you were analysing the finer aspects of a concert and not actually reviewing an artiste.
Why don’t you start another page just for the analysis with a “punaipaer” without revealing your identity! :- )) !
Hmm… But I guess all decisions are for good…!
Do keep continuing to post on Carnatic music as a whole… specific compositions, unforgettable renditions, patterns, concepts and nuances and specific styles from different schools etc etc!

Thanks for all the comments and for reading the blog. I intend to post on Carnatic music (in general) whenever time permits. I hope the posts and the interactions through comments would help us appreciate Carnatic music better. I am sure I will learn a lot in the process.
