Pramanam (2 ACD pack) – a collection of authentic version of select compositions sung by Sangeetha Kalanidhi Smt. R. Vedavalli and produced by Swathi Soft Solutions was released yesterday at Raga Sudha Hall, Mylapore, Chennai by Shri N. Murali (Managing Director,The Hindu and President,The Music Academy, Chennai). The first copy of the CD was received by Padma Vibhushan Sangeetha Kalanidhi Shri Umayalpuram K. Sivaraman. Shri Murali, Shri Sivaraman and Vidwan Shri T. M. Krishna spoke about the importance of the CDs released and urged Smt. Vedavalli to bring out many more such releases featuring authentic versions of other such compositions that have undergone changes over the last century or so.
A short concert featuring some of the songs in the twin CD pack was organized just before the CD release function and I played mrudangam for the same. Giving details of the same below:
